Upgrade your plan, manage billing details, buy extra Boost credits, and understand what happens when you hit a usage limit.
Where to manage billing
Your billing information lives under Account Settings > Billing.
- Click your account menu and open Account Settings.
- Select the Billing tab.
- Here you’ll see a Your Plan card showing “You’re currently on the [Plan Name] Plan.”
How to upgrade your plan
- Go to Account Settings > Billing.
- If you’re on the Free plan, click Upgrade.
- You’ll see a pricing comparison with the plans available to you (which cards appear depends on your current plan) — a Solo/Find-level plan, Find & Write, and Autopilot, plus an Enterprise option you can contact Grantboost about. Each plan card lists what’s included: seats, projects, and features.
- Click Upgrade under the plan you want (or Subscribe if prompted from an upgrade pop-up).
- Complete your purchase on the secure checkout page.
You can also visit the pricing page linked from the Billing tab for more details on what each plan includes.
Managing your existing subscription
If you’re already on a paid plan (other than Autopilot), you’ll see a Manage Subscription button on the Billing tab. Clicking it takes you to a secure billing portal where you can:
- Update your payment method
- View past invoices
- Change or cancel your subscription
If you’re on the Autopilot plan, contact Grantboost support to make changes to your subscription.
Buying extra Boost credits
If you don’t want to change your plan but need more Boosts right now, you can purchase a one-off top-up of Boost credits:
- When you run out of Boosts, an upgrade pop-up appears letting you know you’re out of credits.
- Click Add Credits.
- Complete your purchase on the secure checkout page — the additional Boosts are added to your account without changing your subscription.
What happens when you hit a usage limit
Grantboost prompts you to upgrade or add credits whenever you reach a limit, instead of just blocking you silently:
- Out of free Boosts: A pop-up appears (titled “Whoa, You’re on Fire!”) letting you know you’ve used all your Boost credits, with options to Add Credits or Subscribe to a plan with unlimited Boosts. You can also dismiss it and continue later by choosing Maybe Later.
- Trying to invite more teammates than your plan allows: A pop-up appears letting you know you’ve reached your plan’s seat limit, with options to upgrade to a plan with more seats.
- Trying to use a feature not included in your plan (for example, uploading documents to train the AI, or saving your best answers): An upgrade pop-up explains what upgrading unlocks, with a button to upgrade right away.
None of these pop-ups charge you automatically — you always have to confirm the upgrade or purchase yourself.
