Fine-tune the criteria Grantboost uses to find and score grants, and add your own sources so it searches with more context.
Where to find these settings
From the Grant Opportunities page, click Settings (next to your profile completeness indicator). This opens Project Settings, which has four tabs: Project, Grant Criteria, Sources, and Notifications.
Setting your grant criteria
The Grant Criteria tab is used to filter and score grants — you’ll only be shown opportunities you’re eligible for. You can set:
- Grant Amount Sought — a minimum and maximum funding amount you’re looking for.
- 501(c)(3) Status — Yes or No.
- Organization Type — choose one of: Nonprofit, For-profit, Government, Academic / Research, Social Enterprise, or Other.
- Minority-Owned — Yes or No.
- Ownership — choose one of: Male-owned, Women-owned, Co-owned, or Not applicable.
To update your criteria:
- Go to Settings > Grant Criteria.
- Set your amount range and select the options that match your organization.
- Click Save Changes.
These filters directly affect which grants show up in your Open and Upcoming tabs and how they’re scored, so keeping them accurate improves your matches.
Adding sources to widen your search
Sources give Grantboost more context about your organization — this helps it find and match grants more accurately. You can add a source as a webpage URL or an uploaded document from the Project tab.
Add a webpage URL
- Go to Settings > Project.
- Paste your organization’s website or a relevant page into the Webpage URL field.
- Click Add URL.
Upload a document
- Go to Settings > Project.
- Under Upload a Document, drop a file or click to browse. Accepted formats are PDF, DOC, and DOCX, up to 5 MB.
- Grantboost will upload and analyze the document automatically.
Use a document from your library
If you’ve already uploaded documents elsewhere in Grantboost, you can reuse them as a source:
- Go to Settings > Project and choose Select a document from the library.
- Search for the document you want.
- Click Use next to it.
Reviewing extracted information
After adding a URL or document, Grantboost may find details about your organization in it — like your mission, location, or focus area. You’ll see a Review Extracted Information panel comparing your Current value to the newly Extracted value for each field. Check the boxes for the details you want to apply, then click Apply Selected, or click Skip — Keep Current Values to leave your profile as-is.
Viewing and removing sources
All your added sources — URLs and documents — appear under Settings > Sources in the Imported Sources list, along with when each one was added. To remove a source, hover over it and click the trash icon, then confirm.
